About Us

Art at The GrangeIt has been the long term vision of Sharon McCahill, owner and Course Director of Art at the Grange, to establish an arts learning environment that encourages creativity; unrestricted by bureaucracy and the requirement to ‘tick boxes’. Art at The Grange celebrates ‘Art for Art’s Sake’. Each class is designed to aid students build the skills, confidence and ability to express personal creative ideas through the appropriate media.

Based in Milngavie, classes offer a high standard of professional teaching and are suitable for all levels, including the complete beginner. Tutors are experienced and aim to provide concise, fun classes in an engaging format.

The Gallery at The Grange will be a showcase for the work of students of Art at The Grange and also established professional artists. Future exhibitions will include painting, sculpture, photography and video works

 

Meet The Team

Sharon McCahill MEd, BA (Hons), spent many years working in the industry prior to teaching for 14 years. She has a great passion for photography and, whilst still a student at Glasgow School of Art, she won the RGA Fine Art Award and the Fujifilm and Sony UK Student Awards for Photography three years in succession. She has exhibited her photographic work in venues up and down the country. Sharon is also an accomplished illustrator.

Daniella Cornacchia, Promotions Officer at Art at The Grange,  has explored many aspects  of art, from painting to textiles and recognises the depth of the qualities required to make it in the art world.  Daniella recently returned from developing her art in the beautiful region of Veneto, Italy where she was immediately engulfed by the culture. Daniella is keen to bring elements of her experience as an artist plus the knowledge gained on her travels to Art at The Grange.

Eoin Stwart Irving-Knowles (Stwart) is an award winning florist and has won Gold for Scotland three years in a row in The Worldskills UK Competitions. He is an Internal Verifier in Floristry and Flower Arranging through the City and Guilds and currently works with NAFAS offering education and events to promote the art and personal enjoyment of flower arranging. He runs his own Flower Business and also undertakes Internal Training for Florist shops on a one to one basis.

Andrea Welsh is a BA graduate in Fashion with Management and is currently studying a second BA in Visual Arts.  Her studio practice includes a variety of Mixed Media including: Print Making, Painting, Collage and Installation and her work has a strong focus on surface decoration and texture. She is experienced in teaching Drawing & Painting and has also worked as a Designer in Residency at Glasgow schools. Andrea loves to share her passion for art and her ultimate aim is to encourage others to explore their own creativity.
